-
#4Bullit u have been repped for ur help in the past few days
-
#5you could spray paint it?
-
#6Thats what i was thinking, just wether the paint will stick... Don't want it to look gash!! lol
I would have to decide on a colour aswell.. I may polish it up hmm... decisions -
#7paint will stick fine. obviously primered, painted and laquered. mine was done like this. cost- do it yourself will be hardly anything
-
#8Yeh man, just with halfords cans?? Should be quite straight forward then. I just have to decide on a colour now
-
#9i used the primer and laquer fromt there but the paint from a car motor place thingy.
cages should always be white imo
-
#10Well yes, but im respraying my car seat copper so may paint it tht colour

Or black metal flake but they may look wank. Lol -
#11Powder coat it. Paint will scratch too easy. Powder is much harder.
Was about £120 for mine doing -
#12tat aint to bad actually and yea it u have the possibility of the cage bein scratched it would be worth getttin it powder coated!
-
#13How hard is to fit??
-
#14I have got a omp rear cage with the door bars and it cost me 50 quid to get it powder coated. Its worth paying to get it powder coated as it wont scratch that easy, and you dont want to have to take the cage back out just to re-spray it because it has got covered in scratches.
-
#15Sprayed the cage today with cans, looks mint... But it has scratched already, and looks as though it will do more when i get it in to my car. But i will try touching it up with a touch up thing from halfords??
How do i get the cage into the car, does the front bit go threw the door, and the rear bit of the cage through the boot?? -
#16Seats and trims out, all of it through the door (back part first)
-
#17Ok mate, cheers.... I have no trims in the car!!
-
#18Should be a piece of cake then
What cage did you get? Is it a weld in jobbie? -
#19Same one as yours mate, how does the rear bar go onto the wheel thing, lol.... Nd how long did it take you to get urs in??
-
#20And some pics if u could mate
-
#21Mines not bolted in yet. Needs a plate welding onto the rear arches ant then bolting/welding to that! If you have a look through my progress thread there are some decent pics in there
Also, if it's exactly the same as mine you will need to say bye bye to your sunroof! -
#22I was probably going to get rid of tht 2
Anyways where can you get harness pads from?? Can i get them from homebase or something??
-
#24you say youve scatched it. did you wack loads of layers of laqaur on?
-
#25Have a look at demon tweaks web site for foam pads.
-
#26or as i have mentioned before. rally nuts
-
#27Local place do it so im going to pop down there!! Its not scratched much but i will just cover that with padding
I will post pics up later when i have fitted the cage into the car.
-
#28look around for a price, or see you you know someone who's into that business.
when i get my cage, i can get it powder coated for about £40. -
#29Its great ive just found out the cage that demon tweeks have sent me is for a 106.... Just as i have managed to bang it into place, but the part of the cage that connects to the floor where the b pillars are is about 2 inches off.. But it has damaged the sunroof area and mishaped the roof... Don't know what to do really?? Im going to ring demon tweeks tomorrow...
Wot you guys recommend?? -
#30a cage from a 106 is the same as the saxo one.Quote:Its great ive just found out the cage that demon tweeks have sent me is for a 106.... They're not easy to get in, widdle and fiddle and eventually it'll go into place. -
#31Its in place as far as i can tell mate, the two rear bars are on the the two bolts threw the floor in the back. But the b pillars are a bit out.. Are they meant to go to the floor of the car, and the bars on the a pillars need the dash to be cut out. which i have started, but its being a bastard. Nd it clearly doesnt want me to have a sunroof?? As it has altered the shape of the roof.
-
#32I will have to get some pics of it 2moz
-
#33the omp cages never bolt direct, you usually need to pull them and bolt etc to get it sitting right, but gives it a nice amount of tension in there.
-
#34So the cage is ok?? Even though its for a 106?? I have given it the almighty yank, lever and hammer today... lol. The dash cutting is going to be a c***
-
#35was just gonna say that. mine was a right basted to sit right. put in on my own and was a right basted. tightening and yanking at the same timeQuote:the omp cages never bolt direct, you usually need to pull them and bolt etc to get it sitting right, but gives it a nice amount of tension in there.
