owners of VTS and 106 GTI with swapped engines

   the 106 GTI and VTS are obviousley the same car with same or very similar engines. so why do people swap the engines round from the two? just always wondered and would it not be easier to swap rocker covers or comething?

   They have the same rocker covers.Im not sure why they do it, never heard of it myself.

   I cant think of a single person thats ever put a standard 106 gti engine into a saxo or vice versa, unless they have blown one up and the other is available.

   Like Scott said people only change their engine if they blown it, i dont think anyone would change a whole engine just because its got a different logo on

   people only really do this with vtr conversions it depends what is availible at the time they are looking for a engine really

   I’ve got a Gti engine in mine but I only changed it because the VTS one broke. Only differences I noticed was that the VTS one had nicer looking rocker covers, an oil cooler and a different engine loom… just the same engine though.
