#2been covered lots.
search for it.
it fits but is a bastard to do. -
#3i read about a gti-6 lump in a 106 gti and the guy lost the power steering
-
#4not a bad thing,
i find the steering on saxos shite (as in response time)
or is my mates PAS a but fooked then -
#5if your pas was fucked you would know it.
ive been driving with fucked pas for over a year -
#6the power steering on ma saxo is quite sharp
-
#8cany mind who done it , i just read it in the french car mag
-
#9saying about the pas going mine went on me old vtr a week of it being fooked me arms felt like arnie's lol
-
#12the handling will be crap aswell mate as its a bigger and heavier engine. think it through before you do it
-
#13i can't really see the point in putting a gti 6 engine in. with all the work involved and minimal power gains over a lightly tuned vts lump. if you want a 2.0l something like a vaux red top would fit better.
-
#14ir a newer PSA engine like bic is going to use.
-
#15dont do it! put the mony into a valver engine, just ask ricky p lol
-
#16as said it can be done but there is alot involved including cutting some of the strenthning plates to fit the gearbox in which when fitted also sticks out into the front lower arch a bit, plus its costly so better off dropping a vts lump in & then camming it. as for steering issues the pas will work but when you put a gti-6 engine and gearbox in then the turning circle of the saxo is crap as the front wheel hits against the gearbox end
-
#17ive noticed you more now theres a mod position, lolQuote:as said it can be done but there is alot involved including cutting some of the strenthning plates to fit the gearbox in which when fitted also sticks out into the front lower arch a bit, plus its costly so better off dropping a vts lump in & then camming it. as for steering issues the pas will work but when you put a gti-6 engine and gearbox in then the turning circle of the saxo is crap as the front wheel hits against the gearbox end

#18irc a few ppl have welded locks onto the racks. OR in some cases used different boxes, its the 6 speed box that causes most of the problems.Quote:as said it can be done but there is alot involved including cutting some of the strenthning plates to fit the gearbox in which when fitted also sticks out into the front lower arch a bit, plus its costly so better off dropping a vts lump in & then camming it. as for steering issues the pas will work but when you put a gti-6 engine and gearbox in then the turning circle of the saxo is crap as the front wheel hits against the gearbox end

#19i quit the job i do during the day so have more time to get on the net as had new management the last few months stopping us using the net at work, so quit and now officially a week day bum, bouncer boy at weekends
yeah i have seen them put a lock stop with a rubber end to limit the rack hitting it before to -
#20I've always thought that if you are going to go to the trouble of fitting a different engine into the front of a 106/saxo then think outside the box and fit better one than the PSA offerings.
This upsets the purists but makes better sense if you are trying to build a superior car than citroen did. -
#21rover K series it is thenQuote:I've always thought that if you are going to go to the trouble of fitting a different engine into the front of a 106/saxo then think outside the box and fit better one than the PSA offerings.

#22and take out shares in head gasket companies...
i've got plenty of ideas just need a willing blank cheque book customer
-
#23haha! indeed, although the metal head gasget lotus fit to the K series in the S1 elise made it a bit better.Quote:and take out shares in head gasket companies...

hmmmm just do a project car for the company. -
#24the gti6 engine is spot on actually, can be fitted relatively easily if you know someone who can machine parts and have a good engineering background etc. it definitely doesn't fuck up the handling and if the 5 speed BE is used then the chassis legs are ok and full lock remains.
-
#26did you ever get rid of the 205 shell and longmans engine?
-
#27heres a pic of one in a 106.
