hi, ive got a 1.4 mark1 saxo, ok only a 1.4 but purely for insurance reasons, so far i have added the following, green cotton dynatwist induction kit, its an enclosed filter, and ive made a good cold air feed to it.

added an xsi centre section its an early one without the cat

    jandspeed stainless backbox

added ngk iridium spark plugs, and k1 racing leads.

wondering what more mods i can possibly do?

i have seen a piper cam kit for a vtr blacktop, would this fit mine, and are cams worth doing, as the kit is a bit pricey 350, but i can get it for cost price as i work in a motor factors

if i opted for the piper cam kit how much bhp more would it give and also do i have to do anything else if im to add them, i e a remap?

you want a manifold first mate

4-1 or 4-2-1 though? and what make raceland or janspeed etc.? you recon there worth doing then?

    yes

4-2-1 mate. raceland or supersprint. depends how much you wanna spend. as for cam yes you would need a map

it might be a idea after then to upgrade your brakes and suspension

yeah thats good advice mate, i seem to have forgotten all about the other parts on my car since i started doing bits to the engine, suspensions a definite thing i need to do as i seeem to be riding sky high lol, any recommendations on a kit? and whats a good ride height without compromising the handling.

depends again how much you want to spend and how uprated you want it (stiffness)

decent sus and brakes though(gti brakes are more cost effective than a cam at the time.
have a look at jamesbristols progress thread as he has the same engine

Just remember that the more mods you do, the higher your insurance will be and may work out cheaper just buying a vts if it's speed you're after.

VTR is only group 7... buy one. The mods you do will bump up ur insurance. If insurance is not affordable dont modify it.

it may not make sense but you'll have a faster car by sorting out the suspension correctly vs any more engine mods. No good blasting down the straights if you have the cornering ability of a 2CV

Engine wise.. don't do anything more until you replace the manifold..
