Tyre Choices

I'm in need of some new tyres, currently have yokohama A539's on front, and some wet uniross ones on back, the uniross ones look fairly decent actually but anyway...

The yoko's are.. to put it lightly, useless, too easy to spin and rediculous in the wet, even dry they understeer like a bastard.

my budget is around £200 for the entire lot, less preferably but i want good performance in wet and dry.

What tyre's do you guys recommend me?

    Cheers

    toyo proxis
kuhmo's you'd get them for under 200 even at the likes of motor word

A539s are a good tyre tbh

avon zv3's, like toyo proxes but last longer

i would stick with the yoko a539`s as mentioned they are a good tyre

I rate the A539's over stuff like toyo proxes tbh, too much black movements with the proxes which are more designed for the wet really as apposed to the a539's which are good in the dry and useless in the wet. The a539 is the control tyre in most saxo/106 one make race championships and almost everyone on track at FCS with the rallye register was running a539's...

The A539 is a very good tyre in the dry however it is almost dangerous in the wet to be honest

i find michelin to be the best tyres, i know there expensive. but they have never let me down

agree with above, i have michelin pilot sx tyres and they are very good.

i run on r888 the best alround road tyre no spin in the dry and a little in the wet. i've had toyo t1s and they don't last that long.

Yokohama 048R.. brilliant in both wet and dry conditions. Lotus use them as standard on the Exige too so they must be pretty good.

If I'm not running slicks on track these are what I pick

the R888 and A048R dont last long for everyday use tho do they? or am i wrong?

    plus they are pricey.

i get around 8k out of r888 every day use plus york raceway once a month

depends how you drive. Get a hard compound 048R and I've seen 7000miles out of them including trackdays.

not bad i spose, but what do they cost?

and i would still be looking at more than 1 set a year.
