#3wouldn't bother mate, i tried it with my supersprint and it sounded cack
-
#4lol, well that stopped that idea
-
#5Lol I always wondered what it would sound like
-
#6joesnows sounds good, he has pro tech manifold straight through to standard backbox sounds good imo
i was going to take my magnex off and put a supersprint which sold locally for £30 on but decided against it -
#7Thanks Steve lol! IMO I think it sounds good when it’s not blowing anywhere… which is hardly ever as none of the bits fit together very well… not too noisy but just sounds a bit beefier… and complete stealth
-
#8ive never heard one not blow with after market parts and OE backbox.
allways ends up sounding rough. -
#9You could get a straight through pipe and a decent backbox, it would sound quality.
-
#10my mate did this to his 206 gti. it sounded great. really throat'y under hard accelleration
-
#11I agree with Ryan
Absolute shit it will sound
I dont rate the straigh through pipes get one with at least one box or silecner in -
#12off topic yes, but you gotta love some of the spelling on sax-p

"throughty" say what!? lol -
#14TBH i think they loose you a bit of power on a NA engine
work better on turbo cars -
#15why i went for a BTB on my TBd set up, placement of having a front box and a middle box.Quote:TBH i think they loose you a bit of power on a NA engine

only boost you dont want the silencers due to the pressure involved with the turbo systems imo. -
#17Rough would be an understatement sounds absolute gash atm more of a problem with the manifold and de-cat rather than the backbox think I need some more ridged engine mounts to stop my putty from coming off lol!
-
#18It doesnt sound that bad when its not blowing thing is it always is lol sounds a bit like your clio not too loud but a bit more sporty
-
#19its why i think it sounds shit, it doesnt stay together long enough when it does sound ok lol!Quote:Rough would be an understatement sounds absolute gash atm more of a problem with the manifold and de-cat rather than the backbox think I need some more ridged engine mounts to stop my putty from coming off lol!
i had a sebring center to std backbox, blew more than a hooker on a friday night. -
#20off topic but Leeroys exhaust sounds mint
-
#21Fixed it yesterday sounds the dogs now
-
#23it had come lose
sounds mint when giving it some helped by the lovely carbon fibre filter -
#24My Forte has a staright through pipe on it, just a cat in the manifold and rear box, thats how it was new and it has always sounded fine.
-
#26hi there i put a pro 4-2-1 branch manifold on but i get blowing on the joint from the cat to the manifold any help on stopping this or what i can do
-
#27pro tech manifold
-
#28refer my straight through setup:
Supersprint 4-2-1+400mm(L) resonator+450mm(L)resonator+450mm(L)x150mm(R) backbox
the pipe diameter all equal 50mm, no trim al well,
there are just as quiet as stock one, the low end
torque and high end HP gain at the same time.
to slicely reroute the pipe after fuel tank, let it 99% "straight"
-
#31just done this to a mates vtr. sounds the same on idle and has a bit of a deeper sound when revving
-
#32Ive got a straight through Center pipe & a straight through back 'pipe'

Polished a peice of scaffy bar up
Welded a new exhaust tip to it
Welded the mushrom fitting for the center connection
Sounds rather loud and spits alot.............. if you know what i mean
-
#33thanks for sharing that.
-
#34VTR with 4-1 mani and £100 centrepipe/backbox jobbie, shall i just buy a back box, as i dont see how the centre-pipe i doth possess could yield lower performance from a one that costs like £150 on its own ...
so im thinkin just get a backbox, cos i can imagine how these benefit the throughput of exhaust gases, by being louder n stuff. (less silencing materials etc). this way i could see myself shelling out about £100 for a nice backbox.
any ideas lads n lasses? x
