3 threads recently lol!! you been trying to build the car in a day?

    get a haynes manual.

fitting suspensions fairly easy, only thing to remember only fully tighten things like the bolts on the rear shocks when the car is ON THE GROUND!
  14. #14
lol I have a maxpower Haynes Maual

upto you, get a proper haynes manuel, or become premium and use the guides on here. or get a garage to do it all seen as daddy pays for everything
  20. #20
go to halfords and buy one or get a proper haynes on ebay.

sell the max power one its only good for kindling.

pay for it yourself then you money scrounger ROFL
  25. #25
lol i am paying for it myself. Apart from the tyres
  26. #26
to be honest im sorry but with the levels of knowlege you seem to have i wouldnt advise lowering it.

i sense a big repair bill for a new rear beam after shafting it lowering it.

get it done by ppl who know what theyre doing.
  27. #27
i know how to jack a car up! i have taken the rear axle of a vts off with my brother!

i cant believe you said that! lol

bah taking this off is the easiest part! putting them back on and remembering where every nut and bolt goes is where it all goes tits up!

and jacking up a car isn't rocket science lol tells you how to do that in your shitroen hand book

taking a rear axle off and lowering are two different things ROFL plus you was with your brother lol.

get it done proffesionally emma will cost about £100 -130
  30. #30
nothing to do with removing the rear beam.

have you ever tried adjusting the torsion bars??
  31. #31
i was going to do it with my brother anyway! as said!
  32. #32
emma get it done properly lol all it takes is for you or your bro to miss a nut and you could be driving along and your back end flats right out and you end up with a alloy in your boot ROFL
  33. #33
lol do you think my brother and i are stupid or something?!!
  34. #34
do you know that a buggered rear beam is expensive to get put right, and potentially very dangerous?

reason being why i said get a professional to do it.
  35. #35
well not being funny but why is there a guide then?

I was going to get it checked over after done

hence why i edited it and put only messing .

emma something as important as suspension seriously should be done by a quilified machanic.

there isa guide due to someone decided to post one but have to remember the person who posted it maybe quilified in machanics so know exactly what they is doing and i mean exactly.the bad thing is some people may look at the guide and think well it cant really be that hard EH yeh it is LOL.and i recan 9/10 attemps by people who are not in the know how have failed missrably.

we are only looking out for you emma and saying get it done properly which is hte best way to do it tbh even people on here who are really experienced with the runnings of a saxo will get this kind of job done by a garage.

how you gonna get it checked if you get one bar changed and the other one roggered...??? cant drive the car then.

the guide is there, but imo should only be used by people with good experience and knowlege about cars.

the rear beam is one of the nastyest jobs to do on a saxo.
  40. #40
think aobut it emma you get it done in a garage and its done in say a day or two days.

you do it at home you have college for starters your bro maybe busy at times.
plus because your doing it your experince wont be as high as a machanics so a two day job to them is a weeks maybe more job to you and if you rogger it up then you have to pay out even more money for replacement parts then someone get a garage to pick your car up to then go and repair it which you could avoid in the first place by getting it done by a garage lol
  41. #41
i will get a garage to do it then ok
  42. #42
lowering the rear torsion bar in the max power manual is the wrong way to sdo it, it will get you to do it by notches (splines)

a haynes manual says you need specialist tools and is too much for a wannabe mechanic

pay a tenner for guides on both the front and rear
  43. #43
also it says in the guide about being decent with a spanner etc...
