#3cheers, how do ya do it tho? i think theres a few kerb marks on them i take it ill need then filled in

#4Its quite easy tbh but if the kurb marks are only quite light it would be better to sand them down smooth instead of filling as the less filler the better imo

#5Had loads of experience in them recently. Im not saying im the master or anything. They are easy to do, you have to put allot of effort in and allot of time to do them though. Not a very easy task if you have a busy life. Prep is what its all about, and filling it all and smoothing them perfect. Obviously It aint worth doing if it aint perfect right?
However when it comes to paint and what not. Im not so sure that spraying them yourself is amazingly great! As I found out It dont matter how many layers you stick on and if you use etching primer the paint wont be as hard as getting it done properly.
When I decided to have my VTR rims white I did one to see how well it would come out. Now this wheel must of took me 3 weeks to finish and did it to a perfect standard but when the wheels went back on the tyre and car there were chips and lines off the paint because it just aint good enough for the real ware of the wheel.
Anyway took the set down my dads garage who sent them off to a alloy refurb place. For all four to be stripped, de curbed and in gloss white would of been 200 but It was a favour so got them done for 120. But when they took them out the garage they looked amazing. Having done a wheel in gloss white myself these wheels that were done by the professionals must be 100 times better. You could just feel the better quality paint on them, and because its hardened paint and put in a oven to really good solid they looked very shinny and rock solid. Having thrashed the car for 2 months now with them on, not one chip or stone mark on them.
So doing them yourself does save allitle money but the amount of time and effort going into them isnt worth the hassle. I suggest having them done at a alloy place and the free time you get by not doing them, do some overtime to pay for the wheels your having refrubed. -
