    or this

    http://www.kam-racing.com/product_in...roducts_id/342

+ Is that the correct one for 01?

I have read the big induction thread but am still undecided. I want abit of growl under the bonnet, but not sure which would be better in the long run.

    Thanks

i like both they are both very good enclosed induction kits performance wise green is really good and so is the bmc. what sort of sound do you want raspy or a nice note?
  3. #3
I am also debating which to get once i sell my viper
  4. #4
Raceland. Cheaper and looks better, imo.

i agree is alot cheaper just get the green cone for the raceland and will be virtually the same as the green

Well I havent got an exhaust system so it wont be that loud. Honestly I dont want the stock sound! (even though my vtr does sound much nicer stock than my mates corsa haha)

Something a tad throaty. Obviously the price is a big factor. But so will the turn out of the poll

Really good thread this! Was about to ask what people thought of the Green and Raceland as I've just ordered that kit for my VTS. Mine is totally standard and this kit will be the very first mod I do to it (apart from ICE). Big difference in sound?? I'm more into power gains than sound, a good noise will be only a bonus. Power is what its all about

youve got the best bar a procomp, will have nice noise aswell

I prefer BMC's in all honesty,
    prefer the look and sound.
However, the Raceland/Green combo is outstanding value for money,
and would be my second choice.

for the price then raceland everytime, but BMC, green or the overly expensive procomp

...well thats a pleasing thought, cheers Bullit. I'm usually a tit with induction kits, got suckered into paying 130 for a bleeding pipercross for my previous Ka. But then I was only 17 at the time and knew nowt about mods...

procompe was a carbon brand that was discontunued. did cabon bonnets, boots etc.

the induction mould can be found on ebay. seach for streamline on ebay and the kit aswell as other goodies will pop up
  16. #16
exactly the same but just a different company as said

although they probablies make them a different way
  17. #17
Procompe's are difficult to come by. If they're that good (I'm not doubting for one second they are) then why are they so hard to find??
  18. #18
PROCOMP! not spelt with an E on the end!

streamline carbon make stuff using procomp moulds.

theyre hard to find because they went out of business.
  19. #19
because not many people will pay £500 for an induction kit

dont you have to drill holes in your slam panel to fit a raceland though?

and move the power steering tank?
  23. #23
hmmm. Looks like ill stick to the ol raceland scoop with green air filter or BMC. But the voting is close, so Im still stuck ha!
  24. #24
...well with prices like that its no wonder they didn't last. Bet the kits were ace though, for that money I'd hope so! The raceland and Green may not be as exclusive but just seems like such good value. Are they difficult to fit?
  25. #25
a mate of mine is selling his green aswell which is another option

do you have any idea on the price of carbon?

you dont get carbon cheap lol! carbon bonnets are not cheap. pro comp sold a fair bit of kit before they closed, it wasnt bankrupcy as far as im aware either.

Yeah of course Carbon has its price, but for a mod as elementary as an induction kit just sounds like a lot. In contrast, kits like the carbon fibre BMC are more realistically priced. But then again if the kit is properly good then its money well spent...

id personally be willing to pay the ££ for one new over something like a piperx viper or bmc.

the level of craftmanship was out of this world. and it depends on the car swell. alot of people spend money on ITG carbon airboxes for other cars and bmw owners spend tons on carbon grouppe M ones

yeah certainly depends on the car too, or how far you want to take modifying with your current one. Me personally, I don't see me going further than cams with mine, if i wind up with 145-150ish bhp at the end I'd be happy myself, but if i was looking at bigger things in the future (Tbs or turbo etc) then sure I'd consider the best of the best kit...

Supposedly the VTR variant of the kit is a better fit, though I don't think anyone has confirmed this.

Hopefully I will be able to on Friday.

Lol, wouldn't mind an answer too, expecting the thing in a few days and got no clue about any of that. Assumed it just bolted straight on, no questions asked. Could be wrong.......

    BMC

    But they are both good
