Gearbox vibrations?

   When travelling at motorway speed and i take my foot off the accelerator i get a very loud vibration from under where the gearstick is. If i take it out of gear doing say 70 then the noise stops. This also happens when im steering left at lower speeds aswell. I think that this has something to do with the gearbox but need to confirm? cheers

   are you sure its not the exhuast vibrating? Try jacking the car up and looking at the clearances along the exhaust

   Its not the exhaust as there is plenty of space and no movement, and wouldnt explain why the vibrating stops when i take it out of gear.

   that happened to me, is it when you take your foot off the accelerator and there is a loud noise and the gear stick proper shakes???

   Yes, maybe it is the gearbox mount thought it could be the diff as i heard someone was saying before? Its just i dont want to pay for a new box and have it fitted if its just a mount
