ok my mates head has gone on his gti6 so hes braking it.with the brakes what do i need just the discs pads calipers and carriers?because where i work the kid whos just qualified reckons that ill need to change all the piping and reservoir etc??is the normal vtr fluid reservoir etc all ok to use?what i mean is can i just fit the carriers and calipers along with the pads and discs and just drive?

#2Your standard pipes and the vtr resevoir are fine, its acctually the master cylinder (attached to the resevoir) that you might like to change although it isnt necessary & alot of people dont bother to change it, it just means there will be a bit more travel in the brake pedal before the brakes starts to slow the car.
A small part of the carrier needs to be machined off so that they fit, but apart from that its plug & play. Detailed instructions on how to do this are in a sticky thread at the top of this section.
The brakes wont fit under he standard 14" vtr alloys though, you'll need some 15" (like the VTS) or larger.
