fifth gear slipping, Help please!

   Hi guys
   
   Picked up a Vts tonight, 1997, 62k
   
   I bought the car knowing she need a new radiator but discovered another prob on the way home,
   
   The car seems to slip out of 5th gear. All other gears are solid but when slowing down in fifth it slips out, not into neutral but not properly in gear. Pain in the aris!
   
   Please tell me I don't need a new gear box?!

   could be the linkage on the box they are prone to wear as only a nylon cup onto a metal bush
