wing mirror guides?

  1. #1
Has any1 got a 'how to' guide for removing wing mirrors (manual) and fitting new ones

    cheers
  2. #2
Dunno about a proper guide, but I think theres about 3 screws on the back of the mirror (inside the door, under the plastic cover which just pulls off).

Just undo them and teh mirror comes off. Screw new ones in to base plates and then into door.

you don't need a manual for that mate,
1 - take off your door card (2 screws)
2 - take off interal mirror plate
3 - undo 3 screws and off goes your mirror that it.

dont even need to take your doorcard off for it
  5. #5
ahh so ive got to remove the inside door card to get at the mirror...

is it an easy job then?

you can't get to the bottom screw with the doorcard still on....
  11. #11
right ive had a look today, i took the plastic interior mirror cap off.... i can see what you mean about the door card obstructing the bottom screws... my next question is that where are the screws to remove the door card? i can only find one near the mirror interior cap ...

also at 1st look the wires of the mirror dont look like they will fit back through the hole in the door if i am to remove them, am i wrong?
  12. #12
    ?? ...
  13. #13
door card screws in that dent thing by the handle, i'm sure it has a name
  14. #14
handle? theres about 3 handles on the door lol... the door unlocker handle, the handle that u use to actually close the door which looks like a oval cup, and the window winder handle
  15. #15
In the "oval cup" handle. Theres a torx screw. That one and the one you already found. The door card is held on by clips which you should pull off carefully
  16. #16
do i not need to remove the door and window winder handles before removing the door clips?

i think ill try to unscrew them with a torx allen key ive got that way i dont have to remove the door cards
  17. #17
yes you will need to remove the window winder before you take the door card off.
  18. #18
    does it just pull off?

im about to fit my replacement mirror today and I wondered the same thing, will this actually just slide through? I do I have to take off the adjustor somehow?
  25. #25
If you have manual mirrors and you change them for after market ones, you will lose the adjuster all together.
  26. #26
they're just standard ones, one of my original ones don't work and i managed to get a replacement from the for sale section here.

does it all just pull through when i've undone the 3 screws, or do i have to detach the adjustor?
