Interior Upgrade

having just got all the problems sorted with my car, beginning to get bored of the standard blakc interior. Currently fancying a few changes, mainly silver centre console and air vents.

    Sticking point is:

would it be better to buy a set pre done
or buy a second standard set and paint them up myself?

also has anyone experienced any problems doing this. IE flaking? also tips would be nice as surly there is more to rippin it out, painting and ramming them back in.

basically it is a case of taking apart, painting and putting back in

The paint shouldnt flake if it is prepared correctly.
i.e. sand the surface, prime with a few coats of plastic primer, flat back, few coats of paint and if required flat back and lacquer

done mine ages ago using halford grey primer, posi blue paint and clear lacquer, gave it a sand down with some wet and dry, and gave it lots of light coats of primer, then bout 4-5 light coats of paint, then couple of lacquer.

did it ages ago, no flaking or chips at all, part from where the thieving bastards nicked my head unit
