hey, i have a 98 black top vtr, single plug ecu and i have got a single plug vts engine, box, ecu, loom etc. the ecu has been unlocked. I have jst got the engine bolted in and all driveshafts on etc....

I have come round to wiring it now and found a few problems...

1-my car seems to have an electic speedo and the vts box has a cable??

2-i have pluged the main wiring harness in but my vtr had wires coming from jst before the round plug going to the fusebox and the vts loom doesnt??

when the ignition is turned on the injection light comes on and the main fuel injection relay doesnt seem to be working, not clicking and no power to it?

    any 1 please help me!

have you made sure the fuel cut off switch doesnt need to be pressed in to reset it ? i thought all saxo's had electric speedo's too

106 gti engine wiring is totally different as far as i know ? most of the fuses are in the car rather than in engine bay

the speedo drive is easy to change, as you look at it theres a allen key bolt to the side undo that and it pulls out and can be swapped for a cable one, only thing is that the wiring loom might not have the plug for it.

what year is the engine and loom from.

The loom should be ok, so Id start looking elsewhere. Some looms Ive had have fused power feeds (the ones going to the fusebox), others are like the 106 GTi and splice into the charging circuit. If it doesnt work, then sadly youre down to buzzing out wires Look for any obvious breaks.

As said, change the box speed sensor.
