Bigger Lump or NO?

    I am planning on doing some fairly serious engine mods to my VTR over the next year or so. I have a few options in mind at the mo:

    1) Fitting a turbo to the existing engine.
    2) Fitting throttle bodies to it.
    3) Turbo and throttle bodies.
    4) or just changing the lump completly, i was thinking either a 2.0 T or a 1.8 T.

    Cost is also a factor in comparison to the BHP i'l gain.
    Any thoughts on this one?

    Depends how set you are on a Turbo?

    After driving a VTR Turbo last night id highly recommend it myself..

    i intend doing it to something in the near future. although mine will be going to a CarWorx to be done.

    well iv driven a fair few turbos and i think dropping one in a saxo would be a pretty good way to go. did the one you drove have the standard engine with a turbo?

    what sort of level of tune are you aiming for? That would determine how you mod the engine

    have you looked into the costs of turboing a saxo?

    iv had a quote from a friend who could get the turbo fitted for around the £900 mark. fair deal?

    Sounds way to cheap to me mate. And youll find it very hard to get a 1.8t/2.0t in a saxo, especially in the engine bay and even if you did the handling would be wank. Putting it in the back youll need a custom cage, shafts etc which wont be cheap.

    looking at 5k minimum tbh for it to be reliable

    need to uprate brakes, suspension, clutch

    tell a lie, a guy on here has turboed his 1.1 and it cost him 1500 done himself with secondhand/ freebies...

    If your wanting more poke, have you considered a vts lump?

    then you could cam that and im sure that would keep you happy

    like said turbo is gona cost 5k or so

    you could cam the vtr but then your stil lookin at vts pace

    fitting a bigger lump is gona cost alot more than the turbo

    no limit, you just have to upload them to photobucket or a site like that, and then link them to wherever you wanna post them

    1. How much have you got / do you want to spend?
    2. How long can you be without a car?

    Id go VTEC if i had the time/money and Turbo that but how would TB and a Turbo work? Big dollar spend to make dreams reality fella

    VTS cams and remap with breathing mods
    Healthy BHP and then you can always take it further and TB or Turbo from there

    also, i dont think you can turbo and throttle body the car together, i may be wrong, buts thats what i've heard.
