im unsure weather to get a newer vtr or build up/rebuild a vts engine in my spare time and when i can afford the insurance stick that in my current vtr?

i can do most of the work myself, but just wondering what people think, the reason i want a new one is cos mine nearing 90k and i know some ppl have higher but i just hate seeing shit loads of miles.

    your oppionions pleaseeeeeeee.

Rebuild and tune a vts lump if you can do it yourself
  3. #3
bate buildup vts, that is if you have the time and save your money lol..
  4. #4
    got plenty of time.

hope i can do the work myself, so far me and my mate have put a vr6 in a corrado, 1.8t in a mk1 golf, so a vts shouldnt be that had......he says lol

    go for it mate.

get the vts lump and rebuild it to a good spec, just budget your money and be sensible with it. there's always stuff you dont plan on, that can go wrong.

plus, there's plenty of people local that would help you.

    cheers for that jeeves.

wiring will be my downfall tbh, every thing else i can do and understand fine, part from the sodding wiring lol.

shouldn't need to do much, as the new loom just plugs to the sensors on the vts lump, then plugs to the vts ecu.
  8. #8
but putting the vts engine in will i have to change the loom behind the dash?
  9. #9
iirc, thats part of the vts loom you need, then its just unplug old and replug new, iirc.

is there a difference between the vts ecu? like after w-reg the vtr ecu went from single plug to 3 plug?

go properly and get a 206 or C2 1.6 16v lump there becoming the new choice as we are running out of low mile tu lumps now
