right people, basically ive got a pretty standard VTS. (just breather mods, exhaust)

what are the best MAKE of cams people are using nowadays? (piper, newmans etc)

also im looking for maybe 145-150bhp fly. or is that a bit too much to ask for from just cams?

    cheers

EDIT: and i also want to be able to pass my MOT on the emmissions test so i pretty much want to know the best cams to get which i can still pass my emmisons but get maximum power.

    hope that makes sense

Catcams 708's, reach about 160 at the fly depending on other mods and stuff obv.

You won't pass an MOT without a CAT, end of story. If you want power when installing higher lift cams, it would be stupid leaving the CAT in IMO.

You can't have your cake and eat it. However, you can get a sports CAT. They are expensive mind, but they will flow pretty good, a lot better than a stock CAT, but not as well as not actually having one installed.

Those figures for 708s are optimistic, and basically unrealistic too IMO. You could reach that with TBs and some decent head work though. Expect a genuine 150 + BHP with 708s and a very good re-map. Install an aftermarket ECU and get that mapped for optimum results.

I'd try the Newmans for a change mate

They have been making them for years and come highly rated

most people go for the 708 cat cams with them been tried and tested, youl get somewhere 150-160atf
  8. #8
sorry for hjacking, but how much would catcams plus remap cost roughly?
  9. #9
about £350 for the cams mate and anything between 300-500 for the remap dependant on where u go
