    anyone use them?

These are starting to pop up quite alot now and the description sounds great, but i'm not so sure they are as good as what the description makes out..

There's a reason you pay £700+ for decent coilovers..

to be honest the description makes them sound awesome, and i would be tempted if i had the money, read a few reveiws but unfortiantly ant remeber were and it all looks good, like james has said been popping up recently!

I wouldnt touch Jamex full stop let alone their coilovers. Bit pointless on saxo anyway i reckon cus youve still got a torsion bar on the back

    how come you wouldnt mate?

Cus theyre at the very lower end of the suspension market id rather get a decent brand like eibach or Koni. Jamex are for chavs in shitty bangers imo

    go really low for cheap
can only go 60mm on springs

a cheap set of coilovers will be lower spec that say bilsteins for the same price. component quality suffers in exchange for height adjustable platforms.

most people set their ride height once and never touch it again .. which makes you think coilovers may again not be the best solution vs conventional shocks.

on a peugeot / citroen with torsion bars at the back you are restricted in what you can do on the back too. that's why I got rid of them on our track 205 and ran coilovers on the rear.

there are a lot of benefits to a 'quality' set of coilovers you just have to think it through as to whether its worth the expense.

are coilovers comfy, let alone jamex? just wondering

That advert doesnt sell them to me tbh. I would go with a well reputed brand. The way they have highlighted the key words and used dodgy pics of the product just makes them look cheap imo.

not usually. Quite often they are noisy and come with more race orientated springs making you feel every bump.. the cheaper brands are worse as the springs/valves/othercomponents are cheaper and this affects the road holding / comfort and performance . On the plus side for coilovers there is a ready availabilty of alternative springs for you to try to get the ride quality right and as the ride height is not dependant on the spring you can tweak to your hearts content..

Its a lot of fussing and expense for a road car when you could get a Bilstein Sprintline kit and matching springs and have an instantly capable and comfortable car. For the track though its certainly desirable to have the adjustability BUT you go for a quality set of coilovers not budget tat.

Me I used coilovers on my last road car... but I used 3 sets of springs before I got the ride how I liked it.

Just to add: we had a set of Raceland coilovers for the Polo in for testing and each strut weighted more than all four of my Ledas for the 309
