If its that carpet stuff that covers the underside of the bonnet then yes you can take it off..

I took mine off when it went on a diet..

Its on black clips, just pop them off and it will come off..

You CAN remove - whether its advised is a different matter

  10. #10
Think its jsut their to keep the enginebay warm and insulated...?
  11. #11
i thought it was sound deadening (sp?) stuff
  12. #12
i thought it might be there for a little sound deadening lol

    EDIT: damn u viper!
  13. #13
Its sound insulation & will help the engine heat up quicker in winter!

arent the saxo engine bays always getting too warm do you recon it will do it good taking it off and then there is more cool dense air around the air filter + weight loss a bonus all round in theory
  15. #15
saxo was designed to have it there tbh...
i doubt it will cause any problems of overheating

Ive taken mine off, makes the engine sound noticably louder which is cool if youve got an induction kit. Looks a million times better without it too

Mine came off within weeks of having the car.... diet ftw.

I took it off my old VTR and the car ran a little hotter.. so it went back on again and the temp dropped back to normal again.

mine had no under-bonnet carpet, or bulkhead carpet, both of which my mates furio and vtr had

maybe then its there to absorb the heat becuse with it off the bonnet would reflect heat back the engine

My bonnet weighs a tonne.. its a new one im sure its not standard VTR one.. any way of checking.. Does the carpet make it lose alot of weight?

its just to make the car a bit quieter. Ditch it
