torsion bar/dummy dampner?

hey would just liek to clear a few things up..is this guide the right way to lower the torsion bar http://www.suzukituning.com/PSA/Suspension/Lowering.htm
plus while doing this do i jack both sides of the car up exactly the same or do i only jack the one side up...
secondly i was reading a max power haynes book and it says in there under the lowering section i need a ''adjustable dummy damper''?? so ive read on an i think they are lowering the car using the spline way (which ive been told is the wrong way to do it) all feedback an help will be well apreciated thanx

The above website shows the correct way to do it. It can also be done the max power way with the dummy damper, it's basically the same except you measure the height with the damper rather than a measuring tape! But you're correct, the splines way is a no no.

ahh so basicly the dummy is a bit of bar set up to 40mm that will kepe the distance the same..insted of having a second person there to hold it in place while measuring with the tape if that makes sense? an if i followd the guide of the site do i need to jack both sides of the car up at the same time or can i jst jack one side..lower it then jack the other up or will that throw the other side out? thanx

yes mate i made a set up to do mates cars basically imagine a damper but instead of free sliding its on a thread allowing you to adjust each arm perfectly and keep them in place when you refit the bars...

just use a jack to hold it in place

so basicly if i dont make a dummp i can just use a jack to hold it to the rite measurment...an do i still need to jack both sides up or can i do it one a time?

    one at a time
