hello, today i tried to fit a universal bmc induction kit, eventually i gave up as it was just too big to fit and didnt have all the appropriate connections. does anyone know a SUPER easy induction kit that comes with all the connections so i can pretty much take my old filter out and stick my new one in?cheers

#2universal means universally fits nothing.
HOWEVER bmcs fit usually quite easily. how was it to big to fit? you run a pipe to it from the tb -
#3there was just no where to fit the air filter without it resting on anything, and it was difficult to fasten it to anything securely.i was hoping there wa s some way to make it fit as it seems a decent kit.
-
#4it should come with a metal bracket to mount it
-
#6yeh thats the kit which i have
-
#7Heres mine, hope this helps....

You shouldnt be short of room to place it... -
#8cheers m8, i was gonna put it there but it was rubbing on a pipe which i thought mite damage it? also i have 2 breather filters connected to my original air filter, how did you connect these to this? cheers your a star
-
#9Which pipe was it rubbing against - a pic might help or circle it on mine if you want. You can put a (oil breather) filter onto the rocker cover which you can buy from Halfords, the other pipe which I assume is the crankcase breather running upwards from the back of the engine block, I bought a silicone T hose which goes onto the throttle inlet and has a smaller diameter pipe coming off it (usually used for dump valves) and used an alloy joiner to connect the crankcase breather pipe to the T hose as I was unsure wether you could use a filter as I was told this pipe has to be pressurised. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.

#11Tis rather nice isnt it
they do make noise too contrary to what people say
-
#14how much u pay fof the hoses and t joint and weres the best place to get this from thanks
-
#16That looks mint, any info on where to get the silicone would be great, did u have to adapt it for the oil breather or is there some where selling that section with the breather adapter already in
Cheers -
#17BMC is easy to fit long as you have the right hoses you may need reducer ones
wack a breather filter on their and off you go
here's mine

hi mate iv just got a vtr over the weekend and i have seen a few cars with your induction kit set up. i was just wondering where you buy these bmc kits from? your engine bay looks really smart!! -
#19hi i have just two days ago fitted a universal cone filter, had to buy a breather filter extra though, even still took my 10-15 mins and it has improved the response of the car
-
#20I bought mine off a member on here, try Kam Racing though as I know he sells them and he's also a member on here.Quote:hi mate iv just got a vtr over the weekend and i have seen a few cars with your induction kit set up. i was just wondering where you buy these bmc kits from? your engine bay looks really smart!!

#21the proper kit for the VTR comes with 2 breather filters and a reducer so it will fit in addition to the standard parts in the universal kit.
posi-saxo pm or email me and I can let you know what other parts you will need to make it fit.
if anyone else wants one I have to get them on the new site lol. Will add that to my list of things to do tonight -
#22alrite mate thanks for the reply before. iv checked out kam racings website and they cost £142 quid but only come with this black hosing?? where did you get your blue hosing from if ya dont mind telling us?? just iv got a posi blue vtr aswell n it will look good with it ya know...
-
#23I bought it with the siclicone hose included, but I know the guy i bought it off got it from Hose Direct, if they dont help then try LK Performance I have bought some off them and found them to be the cheapest - you should find both through googleQuote:alrite mate thanks for the reply before. iv checked out kam racings website and they cost £142 quid but only come with this black hosing?? where did you get your blue hosing from if ya dont mind telling us?? just iv got a posi blue vtr aswell n it will look good with it ya know...

alrite mate cheers il have a look now. im considering either the bmc cda or a raceland enclosed induction kit? which would you say is the better of the two? which sounds the best and gives the best performance gain? iv read a lot about the two of them and people seem to rate them both highly. money isnt an option really i can get either of them. -
#25Both kits are good, Im not sure what sound the raceland makes cause I havent heard it but they do make a noise as does the BMC which I have. The Raceland can be tricky to fit as sometimes you have to re-locate the power steering reservoir.Quote:alrite mate cheers il have a look now. im considering either the bmc cda or a raceland enclosed induction kit? which would you say is the better of the two? which sounds the best and gives the best performance gain? iv read a lot about the two of them and people seem to rate them both highly. money isnt an option really i can get either of them.
Personal choice for me would be the BMC obviously
depends which one you like the look of I suppose as they both do pretty much the same job to the same standard.
