Hi all just wondering really what people think will happen to engine and what i should do to give it the best possible long last life.

Basically i change gear at about 4-5k revs and some times i go high some times lower i still on long straight road about 100 some times 120

just wondering if this will damage my engine driving like this also

what is the best thing so keep it in best possible conditon so it does not die advice please?

    Where does Vidal start?

Yes changing gear at 4 -5k is not usually a problem, you will be right at te top of the power band but in itself not a great problem. There should be no short term damage to your engine or gearbox.

There's the advice that you wanted, and no for some of the advice that you don't possibly want to hear.

Firstly, revving the engine to the top of the power band all the time, is not something that you NEED to do, are you in a perpetual hurry?

I'm glad you've also pointed out that on a straight road you can also hit 100 - 120, please carry on and hit a tree. The roads will be safer without you on them.

Now go away, think about whether your life and the life of others is worth it and then come back with a coherent reply as to WHY you drive in a totally antisocial manner.

Whilst you're away, please reflect on how you've come across, whilst chewing on some of Vidal's neg rep.

Actually, don't come back, we can do without you on here.

Thankyou, please click the red X on your way out.

you go 120 in a fucking furio dont be daft mate we all know hat you cant do that but please carry on thinking that and hit a very large tree while you are doing that and yes changing between 4-5k revs will damage you engine in the long run try changing between 3-4 for the more subtle driver

Personaly i think telling someone to hit a tree at 120mph is antisocial. I completely agree with you that 120mph on the public road is unsafe, inconsiderate and stupid but telling him to basicaly kill himself isnt the way to go about changing this guys driving habits.

2k to 4k rev is when i change gear, 120mph is a dangerous speed to go on public roads.

    hahahahaha 120 ahahahaha

I change up ataround 3-4k revs. Unless i'm really booting it, which is not very often. (Have you seen the price of petrol lately???!!!)

It's fcuking dangerous to go that fast on a public road

I must admit in retrospect, it does come across as quite harsh. In my (admittedly) short time on here I've tried many approaches to the problem of people who state the excessive speeds that they think are acceptable on public roads. My family shares the roads with these idiots, I know who I'd rather see wrapped round a tree.

However, as a magnanimous gesture, I hope that the OP is caught by the police, he ends up being prosecuted for reckless driving and gets an exemplary sentence. I further hope that his car is then repossessed by the finance company, and when he gets out of the big hotel, he has a more mature attitude to the roads and the people he shares them with.

I think olibs may not be back after all this, lol. Anyway olibs im think you get the message, we all are guilty of breaking the speed limit but 120mph is ridiculas mate, slow it down!

And revving your engine to 4 - 5k rpm wont do it any harm unless its all the time, the revs are there to be used.

    Don't abuse from cold
Change fluids on a regular basis
    Wear clean underwear!

You all take your revs well high. I tend to keep mine lower than 2k-2.5k unless im playing with it then I let it get warm first. doing 120mph is stupid even though you wont actually be doing that speed.
  17. #17
furios can hit 150mph if its cold weather.

think you guys are all being abit harsh tbh, its like uve basically banned him from the site in a way. everyone does abita speeding. he mite mean he only does it at night time on a motorway? nowt wrong with that now and agian.
  19. #19
speeding as in 70-90 on motorway i would say is fine in the correct situations but goin 120 is just silly, especially in a saxo!

There is a difference between "abita speeding" and almost twice the legal limit.

He was stating 120 on open roads, if your happy to share the roads with him then fine, I'd prefer not too.
