Are universal exhausts easy to fit? coz had a quick look at my standard exhaust (on my mk1 saxo) and the tailpipe that comes off the box is angled so it sticks out the rear of the car straight. so if i had a straight universal backbox and fitted it the way my current exhaust is it would point out at an angle.... i think! so if i wanted to stick out the rear straight, the backbox would be lower than the rest of the car bits underneath... i think???

#2Getting an exhaust which is suited/fits directly onto the Saxo is easier to fit, and looks nicer and even sounds nicer too mate...

#3Please dont get a universal back box!! Do yourself a favour and get a proper one from the likes of piper/ashley etc...

#4yeah as said, universal fit boxes are harder to fit and more often than not look gash.
but saying that i do have one myself, and i personnally quite like it. -
#5It would be harder to fit and you would either need to have it lower than you're back box just now or cut a bit out of your bumper so that it sits right. As said above, easier just to get one made for your car.

#6universal - universally fits nothing without alot of bodging

#7the verdicts plain and simple then... save the extra and dont bother with universal exhausts! nice one guys!
.... also, alot of the exhausts i see on the internet are for a VTR or VTS, would these also fit a VSX? How do i know what exhaust i need i do i just specifically look for exhausts for a 1.4i? -
#8Universal exhaust = lol.

#9No matter what anybody says Universal or custom exhausts are fine, most of the problems arise from badly fitted systems by people who dont care about the quality of the work they are doing!
Ive had a number or custom exhaust systems and been more than happy with the quality, my best advise is to have a universal or custom box fitted rather than doing it yourself, but thats just my personal view
