Me personally would go for the raceland enclosed with green filter. This can be purchased from Kam Racing.

Went from a groggy open BMC to a Raceland Green Enclosed (it's not forced induction btw) and the car revs a lot cleaner and sound nice.

yup, raceland scoopy thing with green filter from kam racing FTW!

EDIT: cheap aswell compared to vipers and BMC's

well i'v just had my car on the rolling road and i have a green filter(not enclosed) and my vtr put out 105.7bhp. the bloke said enclosed filters dont increase bhp any more than none enclosed filters

the bloke is being generic imo and not specialist on tu engines

heat soak occurs in an engine bay on TU engines because the inlet system is at the back of the bay. you need an enclosed system to get cooler ambient temps in the air which is combusting, cooler air is mosre dense and therefore gives better combustion = better performance

must be true then - but lets not go on a tangent as to the accuracies of a rolling road.

    my 2cents

an enclosed will take cold air directly from the front of the car. This is a good thing for power.

Open filters on the TU will suck in a mix of air from under the car, air thats come from the radiator, hot air off the block and some cold air from perhaps a cold air feed. = not so good

The differences may or may not be realised on the Rolling Road but in real life conditions it will be

raceland with green filter or a bmc
