4-2-1 manifold (decat). Your looking at around the £200(ish) mark, then stick some high lift cams in it £350(ish). Thats about all £500 will get you. But you should see a fairly healthy increase of around 20bhp or so.

what planet are you on lol?

how did you work that out, we dont read max power on here, apart from ryan

lighten the car (which can cost nothing) and look at quality suspension / tyres first.

This will improve cornering, acceleration / deceleration, braking, handling etc etc.

    Then look at power.

Thats the way i'd do it.

Yeah, fair enough, 20bhp was a bit optimistic! lol Been reading "fast car" too much...

    agree with Kam and Bullit.

handling and cornering is the key, get the car stripped, and then concentrate on the handling and stopping of the car.

a car that can go 10mph faster round a corner will then have an advantage on the straight.

Trade it for a VTS instant 20bhp lift!

    VTS is good call.

    Brakes are important things.

Id go for a manifold back exhaust and airfilter combo to get the most out of your limited budget.

Your probally find your R will have the catin the manifold so if you change the manifold your decat the car making it un MoT friendly which will increase performance but you will have to replace the manifold with the cat at some point.

Have a look on www.kam-racing.com and www.cituning.ltd.uk to see whats out there in terms of airfilter and exhaust mods
