just seen a few cars with these on and i really like it as it coninsides with the EURO look.
does anyone know if these are made for saxo's if so do you know where?

heres a few pics if you aint seen them before...

    They look daft IMO
  3. #3
not sure if they are made for the saxo.

really just for vdubs, and is to protect the front of the bonnet/car more than anything else.

    two read blobs.
    mmmm

ive seen them on fast cars.
Yet i still dont know the point of them
  5. #5

there made for a purpose, not to look the dogs!, but some of the patterned ones for the old vdub buses are cool.

saxoseb and djrem - they are for protection against stone chips.

very big thing on the vdub scene.

Every other car in Florida has one.

They ruin the car imo look well cheap and tacky. Especially the little flaps that stick up.

So you'd rather an expensive spray job on your hands to sort stone chips?

The 'flaps' also serve a purpose iirc

I think they look stupid, but im not to sure if they make them for saxos but you could get one made.
  11. #11
I think they look pretty crap aswell (even though they serve a purpose). If it was a toss up between having one of them on my bonnet or a couple of stone chips i would go with the stone chips any day !!

You get stone chips all over the car anyway. Its what happens when you drive around it cant be helped. Id rather have a few chips that 99% of people wont notice than something that looks like a black bin bag caught in the bonnet that everyone will.

I know youve got one, and i reckon your car looks immense especially as its a pretty rare colour but bras are for women and fat kids not cars

You took the words right out of my mouth, i was just thinking about that. I mean if your following a truck and its kicking up a load of grit chances are its going to spray everywhere, not just on that particular strip of the bonnet. If you have the common sense you would then give it a wide birth and back off a bit.

Note to self: "I must design one of these that covers the whole front end of the car, including 90% of the windscreen" :d

Already been done minus the windscreen check out autobra. they do two types for a clio cos i looked in to it for my dad

And if you had two brain cells to rub together you'd have windscreen cover on your insurance jokes
  23. #23
they do make one for the sax, i looked into it a while back
  24. #24
The ones i saw in yank land actually covered the cars upto the bottom of the windscreen, uncluding the bumper and wings. they looked like protoypes or something all hidden. And theyre well popular

Fair enough...you might get stone chips all over you're car but if you're doing a lot of mileage, especially on the motorway then the front of you're car is going to get peppered with stone chips, thats why my mate has his on his polo.

I've been to VAG shows and alot of the cars at them actually have covers made for the entire front of their cars, including bumper, bonnet and front of wings.

They are made for a purpose but as already said they are big on the vdub scene just as style pieces. For a really good one they aren't too cheap either.
