Wheel bearing prices?

Is it difficult to remove a wheel bearing from the strut? I assume that it will need to be put in a press but would I be able to remove it with a massive hammer?

If I do manage to get it out would it be hard to get the new one in?

or how much should I be looking at to get someone else to replace it? and would it be cheaper to remove the strut for them and just take the strut down there?

I've been quoted £79.95 fitted for the wheel bearing for the same place that is doing my MOT. They'll do the MOT first, check what it fails on then do the wheel bearing and I can sort anything else that's needed and then it can be re-tested for free

Well just jack the car up and rock the wheel, if there is play in it then chances are a bearing needs replacing
