chrome 2 alloy

hi

I got some 17" chromes for my vts at a really good price and couldnt turn down the offer when he said "£400 mate" brand new rubber and wheels only 4months old. thing was i didnt really like the chrome finish at the time but couldnt turn down the great deal he was offering.

my question is can i tone down the look of them (they look like somthing off pimp my ride) i cant afford 2 have them re fininshed is there a product i can use??

i could use a spray can but it would look pants. anyone any ideas??

your going to need to sand down the chrome to paint over it.

Personally i would sell them for mor ethan you bought them for then use that to buy new 17's if thats what you would be after again

scott u know if u sand them down do u need 2 treat them after or can u just leave em as they r with out painting?

what sand paper would u rec? emery paper for the finish?

if you just sand the chrome finish off and dont paint over it it will rust like a motherfucker.

I really wouldnt recommend it, and if you were serious i would get them sand blasted and powder coated. THe sand blasting takes it back to bare metal and the powdercoat is far more durable than painting them. i paid 120 for four wheels to get done
