What else am I going to need apart from a Cam to get this onto my car..

Is it going to need mapping again?

My car is a 2001 vtr, mark 2, 98bhp engine.

Any usefal help = rep and sex.

edit: Power increases, talk to me.. let me know the pro's and con's of this.

Youll need someone to map it. Technically speaking, it wont need a cam, but itll be wank without one. You may need to sort out MAP feeds as it looks like theres only vacuum draw from cylinder 1, probably to run the servo.

I cant remember if the M3DK runs an ICV, so you might need to look into that. Im sure it does though. Emerald is a very underrated management system IMO.

Pros - good potential for further tuning, will complement a hairy cam.

Cons - Its going back to the old "dearer than firing in a VTS engine" carry on. Needs mapping, a bit of playing about too.

Depends if you have the budget and time to follow it through: if so, it could end up rather good, but it wont be as easy as made out in the auction.

You'll need a custom inlet manifold for a start.

    Defo a Cam

Emerald will need to be hard wired into you OE wiring loom

Dave Walker to map it (legend he is)

Either a px600 filter, or socks or a custom air box

    Possibly a FPR

Torque is improved with throttle bodies more responsive

Only probs with Bike bodies matey, everone who seem to have them done dont seem to make much power

    Noise alone is worth it

To cut a long story short... It's honestly not worth the hassle. Sorry to sound like a git, but it's probably best to knock this one on the head straight away.

Don't get me wrong, there are sure to be some good kits out there worth looking into, but that Ebay jobbie would be hassle you don't want.

    If I bought that,

Get some new bodies - How much are they?

    Sell the bike bodies..

then get it mapped?, how much is the emerald worth?

nothing the matter with bike bodies at all,

i say jump in well worth it,

get a lairy cam, get it mapped jobs a gooden.

your looking at 80 quid for bike bodies, or cica 500quid for jenveys with linkages and what not...

bike bodies a little bit more work but a huge saving

dont like the way the inlet manifolds match to the bodies with bike bodies personally.
