Scraping noise when braking

   Hi i have an 02 reg saxo 1.1 and recently i have started to get this scraping noise when i brake but not all of the time. It sounds like metal on metal as well. I have been told i may need new brake shoes but as it does not happen all of the time i am thinking it could be something else. It also seems to be noticable at lower speeds but that might be to do with other noises at higher speeds covering it up. If anyone has any ideas then please post thanks!

   yeah i will do. Cheers for the post, i was just asking before hand because its gona be the weekend next before i will check the pads. My dad suggested that it could be some grit caught in there which sounds possible.

   i would drive it intill you get it looked at mate.....cos it do sound like your pads and if it is and there down to the metal.......the more you ride it the more damage you will cause and in the end you will have to renew the Disc's aswell
