Whats Better?

   This may sound werid but,
   
   what would be better for 1/4 times..
   
   race cams
   
   or
   
   stripping every thing..
   
   i no getting rid off every thing is free but just wonderd..

   The race cams would depend on alot of things but their performance would depend on other major factors such as induction and exhaust modifications. If it was a straight decision on a standard saxo, stripping completly would probably give the better result. But it's a free mod, so why not do both?

   both and 1/4 miles wont be fast in a vtr anyway

   "racing cams" is fairly vauge. If you were to use a mental camshaft though, you would need many other things done to engine. Anyway, I would have thought the start would be much more tricky with an uber wild cam, as you would have a lot of dead rpm to fight through. OK, you could rev the nuts off it, but if the wheels grip too early, you might find yourself completely bogged down.

   its all really about power to weight on the 1/4 mile (all other things being equal)
   
   so you need to know how much extra power you get out the race engine vs how much weight saved from stripping.

    Do both But stripping everthing out is the most cost effective way of making your car faster
