£260 a good price?

   My head gasket has packed up I am in the process of getting it fixed and for the head gasket, cambelt and kit fully fitted it is costing £260, good or not? I thought it was

   cost me for head gasket, skimming etc with a service 400 quid, so yeh im guessing its a good price

   i cant see how garages charge soo much,
   
   mate just got head gasket done, head skimmed and cambelt changed 165quid all in,
   
   i did my own for under 100quid including getting head skimmed

   fuck me i paying 250 for the cambelt kit an water pump to be fitted
   
   citroen asked for 247 just to fit the cambelt

    i did my own head gsaket for £45 took me about 3 hours, and timing belt cost £15 take about an hour so £60 parts 4 hours labour

    Head gasket kit with bolts £45 Cam belt £15 head skin £35 = DIY its alot cheaper

    If your going to do it yourself be careful to get the timing right when you put it all back together.
