C2R2 Head and Inlet..?

I have some questions if anybody would like to try and answer them it would be appreciated. Can you buy the C2R2 inlet and head and use them directly with a GTi/VTS block? Does the C2R2 use really wild cams which would struggle to pass an MOT? also would this setup be hard to drive on the road as a daily driver? Im interested as an alternative route to TB's..

i dont think they use too wild cams.
but using a c2 head on a saxo/106 block will drop you CR so you would need a lot skimmed off. the c2 throttle body is also different so you would need to make an adapter plate to fit your TB.

C2R2 is not a good everyday engine. The engine has a very tight powerband, You will have to get a proper race box. Even the old 106 cup kit was not great on the stock box. As for MOT it depends what you are planning to do for the rest of it. But MOT will be a hard one to pass.

For a road car that will pass mot and be just as happy driving slow as flat out try a low boost setup. You will get the same sort of power but the car will pass a mot and off boost will just about drive like a stock car.

Only problem is i dont like boost! Thanks for the input anyway mate

I knew that it was too good to be true! Surely the C2R2 head would be great with throttle bodies if it can make 180bhp on a standard body?

comes down to cam profile though which of course is what will effect emssions.

The C2R2 is a full engine setup. Its not just a head and cam. If you just stuck them cam on a stock engine you get a lot of problems. So many it will not actually work.

you can buy the parts separately though..

Certainly purchasing the complete engine would not give you something suitable for the road. Its a pure Rally engine through and through.
