Alternator Pully coming off!

  1. #1
Smoke started coming from the engine bay so i popped the bonnet to find the pully was wobling all over the place.

If i get a replacment would it be an easy enough job todo myself (And by that i mean get Alex todo it) otherwise i will have to get suki towed to a garage and i dont have the monies.

    *EDIT*
A garage near me has a 1.4 auto lump from a saxo, would the pully from that fit?

Mike the key is to check the pulleys are the same size and they have the same number of grooves for the belt (not sure if the alternators/pulleys differed in size on the saxo so if it looks like it may fit then chances are it will)

if its the bottom pulley, the rubber perishes and the pulley eventually just falls off.

not a big job to do tbh. gmc used to make solid metal pulleys

Was at garage today, The pully from the 1.4 has a differnt offset so the belt doesn't sit right. Looks like Suki is off the road till mon/tues
