Fuel Saver

   Anyone know anything bout these fuel saving devices which you attach to fuel line. supposedly magnetism promotes smoother more efficient combustion. im currently gettin bout 40mpg from my 1.1 and thats sittin in traffic everyday.
   any comments?

   Its called snake oil. You will get better mpg by making sure your car is serviced properly and in tip top condition,including checking your tyre pressures, fluid levels (including gearbox), make sure spark plugs are ok, distributor is fine etc...

   Instead of buying that… just put the £16.50 that it costs in your tank? The weight of it alone will use more fuel than it will save!
   
   The scam with this one is they try and get your trust by saying they will refund your money if you don’t see a saving… what they don’t tell you is that you will have to pay for the postage to send it back and they probably wont refund the postage you pay when you buy it! They also don’t even give you a month to test it out!
   
   Just like what kam said the tyre pressures and servicing will make a big difference also if you carry weight about like the spare wheel and tools in the boot etc that will use more fuel
