cna anybody tell me if its possible to have harnesses and keep the rear seats...?

i will give you some advise use the styling and interior forum which this thread is now in..

the best place to mount them is the bolt that holds the rear seat belt connector to the car. u could keep the rear seats in.. just u will have two harnesses going across them..

search would be handy to yes you can keep the rear seats your looking for dual release harnesses these unbuckle behind the seat allowing people to use the rear and you to use your normal seat belt in the front

yeah, i got the same harnesses as scott, dual release ones, and its fine for people getting in the back, jus unbuckle it and recline the seat like normal, unless u got bucket seats like me, and then you jus watch as ur mates have to squeeeeeezzze through the smallest little gap

What so the harnesses....can be unclipped on the piece that comes out the back of the bucket seat?
This allows people to get in the back?
Can anyone tell me where i can get these harnesses?
    How much? etc?
Thanks for the help so far

I cant decide wether to go ahead with exterior mods or go for comfort inside first?
do you have to declare buckets on you insurance?
Will it increase my insurance as they'll think im using my car for street racing etc?
Anyone know about insurance? Im with Co-op...

    Oh a forgot to ask...
If you havt harnesses will the airbag still work?
Or does it work on the seat belt pretensioners?
Does anyone get anoyed with being strapped in with harnesses....mates say it can be restrictive???
  9. #9
you will have to declare them.

the airbags will still work if you still have the pretensioner connected, liek you would have to have if you got the dual release harnesses

What about 4 point harnesses....am i right in thinking they connect to the seat....
In images ive seen the rear straps of the harness go down the back of the seat and connect at the bottom....this would eleminate the anoyance of the straps for rear passengers?
    anyone got 4 point harnesses?
    advantages? disadvatages?
  11. #11
no four point harnesses still bolt into the back seat belt bolts.
  12. #12
which harnesses are they then....ive seen them in pixs...the straps ran down the back of the seats?
Presumably connected to the seat in some way?
Anybody heard of harnesses like these?
  13. #13
any harness could be connected like that but you would have to have bolting points custom welded onto the subframe
  14. #14
    hmmmmm thats an interesting idea....
Are they no existing bolts which could be used besides the rear seat belt bolts?
    What buckets have you got?
I really want sparco torino 2's there mint?
    any comments

    Hi there.

Firstly, our website is shockingly rubbish! and has nothing good on it. HOWEVER our new site will be ready and up and running feb 1st 2005! This site will be all singing, all dancing, and work SO much better with alot more content. So please hold tight!

All quiries please email me direct: GSleigh@GSMotorsport.com. We supply over 50,000 products so getting hold of something should be a problem.

Basically we supply the following harnesses:

    Sparco
    Luke
    OMP
    Sabelt
    etc..

The Sparco ones are the best to get the release system so that you can get people in the back with no problems.

The luke ones are the best for comfort and style.

We hope to have photos on our site asap

To be honest (as always tellin it straight with you guys) prices on harnesses are pretty much the same from any company as there is no real profit mark up on them. But we do try and give some discount to Sax-P users.

    Happy to help!
