I have found a picture of a similar engine(lot more rust on this one though) can you advise if i just remove the part i have marked in red and fit the new kit. obviously i would remove the filter also

SPI means the inlet is facing upwards and is slightly more tricky to fit tbh. I have a K&N Specifi one to fit my 1.1 and it doesnt do much at all to the car. You can buy panel filters which will just replace the original and work aswell.

Sorry im not sure if that answered my question. the filter is cone shaped and has a metal straight tail. its got black foam whichhas kinda toblerone shapes. the bracket is liek a long Z but is meant to fit a 206. I was told it would fit my car also. Maybe i was wrong

Put a pic up of the filter it will help more lol.

this is the pic of the filter i have

TBH im not entirely sure how you would fit it due to the inlet facing upwards. I am uploading a pic of mine to show you what is needed to take away. As most of the original stuff needs to be taken away. (well it did for mine).

You may be able to put a breather filter on the oil breather which is on top of the rocker cover. Then jubilee clip on an L shape samco hose on to where my filter is and the attach that to the air filter.

Nice clean engine bay there matt

yeh just take the whole filter system off, mine was same on my mk1 clio, take the lot off and sit a k&n ontop of it actually made it nippier along with a stainless exhaust system

all the induction kits i have seen poke out the side. yours seems to be facing upwards. Looks like a lot of work ......what have i got myself into . I only wanted to increase pressure cause my backbox seems to leave me with low compression on accelaration

I know i treat her well lol

Like i said the SPI engine is when the inlet is facing up, there are not very many filters available for it that i know of apart from the K&N i have. If you want something else to fit you will have to make it fit lol.

you can face them upwards like that, then run a cold air feed pipe or 2 from the front of the car to force cold air to the filter

this seems like a good time to say im a joiner, and own big hammers

    WE can make it fit

The filter he has currently will be too long which means he wont be able to shut the bonnet lol. The K&N is made to be wide and short. Here is another pic (show of my S/S Manifold)

Hmm large hammers nice one! I think it can be done fairly easily. Just need to know what to buy. You will need the correct fitment L bend to fit on Inlet and then attach other end to filter, strap the filter to something to prevent it from moving and then put in a cold air feed from front of car.

so it looks like i need an l shape tube. Does anyone know where i can get them without buting another induction kit. Looked on ebay but no joy. also can someone post a pic showing where i would attach it too.

    thanks for your help guys

You would fit it onto where my filter is in my pic. Slot it over the hole and tighten with jubilee clip. Like this hose http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/viper-performa...QQcmdZViewItem

that link doesnt seem to work for me ... i think its cause you copied the abrieviated version. the pictures i have seen of saxo,s with induction kits seem to go out to the right then down towards he intake . they dont seem to connect to where you have yours . is there different tuypes or something ?
  21. #21
got link to work ..i just clicked it rather then copying it. oops
  22. #22
The reasons people's go to the right is the have a different intake. Which means the filter goes on to a different place that is why.

if the inlet is facing upwards on 1.1s, can't you get some samco hosing or something similar which will bend around from the main inlet and then let you connect the pipercross onto that... ?

ok think i know kinda what to do . think im gonna have to take it to a garage and ask for advice.
    thanks guys

The pipercross induction kit to fit the 1.1 SPI (single point injection) engine is the PK039 thats what I have. Its pretty pants for power infact it slows the car down but it fits dead easily and is tucked away. You basically fit the induction kit to the top bit of the air box. The one you have isn't suitable for you engine ufortunately. Think its a different story with a MPI (Multi-Point Injection) engine. Heres a pic of my 1.1i SPI engine...

garage should give some good advice on how to fit or ask them to fit it for you.

thanks for the pic saxmaniac......how do i know wether mine is single point or multiple injection. I think mine looks like yours but as far as i know its a 99 t reg 1.1 i .....also known as 1.1 x . wonder why it made your car slower?
