Which steering wheel?

  1. #1
Would like some opinions on which wheel to go for. I like the second one but I'm not sure whether it would look "correct" in a saxo

    cheers

    scott

why OMP? Ive got a similar version to the bottom OMP one but from momo, in black and blue leather, looks and feels spot on! Suits the sax right down

  4. #4
    I'd say first one scott.

the second looks like it might impede the view of the dash.
  5. #5

  8. #8

  9. #9
Mine's a similar shape to the second one...
  10. #10

    p.s Sorry for the
  23. #23
id choose the first one mate
  24. #24
I'd go for the first in a 300mm not the 330mm one.
  25. #25
    ripspeed wheels? oh god.

    Anyway, the first one.

racing wheels are for racing cars and chavs.

  29. #29
    top one ftw.

bottom one (no offence) looks too 'tokyo drift' and complete fubar
  30. #30
dont like neither sorry mate, id prefer leather
  31. #31
neither will look "correct" in a saxo imo

    ... because its a saxo

as said above... racing wheels are for racing cars

but if i had to choose one of the two it'd be the first

beg to differ to be honest

what in your mind makes a car a racing car then? can a saxo not be a racing car?
  33. #33
what makes a car a racing car? one thats used for racing!

saxo's are pretty crap for safety as standard too i don't like the idea of losing my only air bag!

all my opinion of course... i suppose a saxo could be made into a racing car... but the owner of this topic has a 1.1 i see.... ?
  34. #34
    second one buddy!

car is used on track.. and I therefore need a decent wheel as the standard one is pap. Your airbag probably wouldn't work anyway, it's a saxo.

    What he said.

For those interested in history, the "racing wheel" is not new, in fact in the 1970's a production car featured one.

Rep to the first to find it.

Top one out of the two but i really like mine as its a perfect match of comfort and it looks great

Simoniz racing red/black leather cant find a pic of mine anywhere atm soz

Good site with a sale on loads of decent styles -

i like the first one of the two mate. not a fan of the shape of the second one
  39. #39
hmm for track id say first one mate for style second one.

i have a momo trek and a momo evo mellenium wheel (greddy you see LOL)
plus a snap off kit so i can change my wheel when i feel like it .

have standard fitted at moment tho and i agree with scott its shit lol.feels like cheap rubber or some kinda horrible silicone feel.

    Mini ?
  41. #41
i prefer the looks of the seccond one but i wouldnt want to use it on track tbh or road actually now i think about it. if you were to loose your grip and went to grab the wheel again it may not be where you expect it to be and may lead to you crashing.

Leather is all fair and well in a road car but the grip of a suede wheel is much better for racing

Alex, you obviously don't know the first thing about Scott or his car!

As above, you know nothing about Scott or his car.

It is a 1.1 which would arse fuck yours around a track. Scott wants a steering wheel for HIS saxo for when he is RACING it. Look at his thread and educate yourself

Much, much more mundane than those.

I'd hate to give you all aggro over this quiz though.

First things first as far as i'm aware Scotts a fully grown lad who can fight his own corner if he needs to.

Second... i wasn't having a go at Scott or his car... So he didn't even need to defend himself - nor did he need you to.

Thirdly, both posts you just quoted me in i stated quite clearly in both that what i'd said was purely MY opinion. So while you highlight the uses "HE" has for "HIS" car.... remember "I" am allowed "MY" opinion.

I'm not going to go researching the guys car just because i don't like the idea of putting a racing wheel in a saxo. If he's purely intending the car for race use then fine! I was actually referring to Saxo's in general - i can safely say 90% aren't "track" cars and therefore putting a racing wheel in is something which i'm not keen on! Thats me who's not keen on it, not anyone else!

And as for "arse fucking" mine round a track... I actually cringed when i read that! Do you think i'm interested whether my car would "arse fuck" anyone elses car round a track? I'll also point out you don't actually know if i've done anything to my car so how can you actually say anything? I have plenty of plans for my car in the near future... but thats not the point...

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick here tbh ... my first post was simply agreeing with what someone else had put regarding racing wheels in saxo's in general... No need to start taking offence at all.
  48. #48
i like the top one, simple but stylish!
  49. #49
    Definately option number 1.
  50. #50
out of the two i would go for option 1.I wouldnt want to use a square wheel for a track car.
