i would recoment a multi channel amp . bare in mind they

will not be price friendly , so your best bet is to speak

to a local installer to match your system .

Dont bother sticking with the same make stuff, especially if u've already got a 'mix n match'.

Ive got all the same make but dunt think its worth it unless ur after a system your going to show off...just go for the best deals. The link above may help as that amp will run your stuff

    Thanks but no thanks....
My install is pretty sexy.....subs are mounted in the rear door cards thanks to some handy fibreglass work....
custom built parcel shelf houses my 6x9's
now i wanna choose a sexy amp to sit next to my 12 disc multichanger....hmmm where to put it...how to show it off......
Is legacy good? Thats quite an ugly bit of kit....

Well if your good with fibreglass why dunt you do sumit crazy...you can put anything anywhere with the help of that stuff!

and 12" subs in rear door cards? are you sure you have the right volume of air?? if you do surely you cant have much left of the back seats!

anyway, i just picked the cheapest amp i cud find to do what you wanted. Try the Lanzar stuff if you want something with more quality...ive got Lanzar all through my car, and its special trust me.

And as for the 6x9's...if your wanting a good system in the car blow them up and get yourself another set of components instead...6x9's are a load of bollox!

Hmmmm all comes down to the same old answer tho....bunsen burner....cash flow...moulan....dollar....and im distinct lack of it....cheers for looking for an amp...just wasnt too keen....yeah...fibreglass was fun...but its everywhere now....every inch of my skin....im kinda fed up of it rearly....its tough stuff to work with.....
Why are 6x9's rubbish.....you get alot for your money....
only bummer about the back seats is i cant put them down...for the ladies

Haha, well the bak seats aint even ther on my car anymore so i know the feelin.

Fibreglass is a bitch but well worth it once its finished.

6x9's are just crap, they are a compromise between bass and treble. ive youve got a sub then its pointless avin 6x9's pumpin out an half hearted attempt at bass. 6x9's should only be bought by people with no subs...and then i wudnt reccomend it to anyone.

My point is why have decent speakers in the front for treble etc and then a sub in the bak for bass...then 2 6x9's mixing them both? Get decent components up front, you got the subs then use a new amp to power the front n bak!

Ud be surprised how much ive spent on a system and there aint 1 6x9 in sight!

Hmmmmm.....problem is i built my shelf before i got my subs.....would mean remodeling my shelf.....hmmmm
maybe it may be worth doing......
oh lifes full of expense why isnt it free....
I might look into some new components for the shelf....
  11. #11
If you want speakers in the bak id defo take out the 6x9's n get sum components...pitty bout the 6x9 holes in your self mind.

The price of things is a c**t innit!

if you wont power Directed are really good. and you get what it says on the tin I.E 1100d IS 1100 watts RMS not peak power. and i would not get a multichannel amp as the amp is working really hard and will get really hot and not work as well different amps for different speakers I.E one for a sub and one for the full range speakers.
  13. #13
isnt it gunna cost me a fortune...for seperate amps and wiring....then its the cost of fitting....
    hmmmmmmmmmmm
i guess i could get one amp for my 2 12" subs and another for my 6x9's and component speakers....
i dont really know whats best...
    who does.....
  14. #14
Ive just bought a massive 4 channel pro plus amp. Going to be using 2 channels for the 6 x 9's (1 on each) and the other 2 channels bridged for the sub.
  15. #15
    Could i buy a 4 channel amp....
    1 channel to each 6x9
    1 channel to each sub?
and power the speakers off the headunit...
that would be the best plan?
    wouldnt it?
  16. #16
hmm... would be ok.. only thing is with a 4 channel amp with one channel running separate things , unless you get a massive amp (very expensive) you are only going to be getting a small amount of power and the sub(s0 will not be humping as much as they
    could
  17. #17
My subs do not require alot of power...
I do want a tight install tho...
Maybe i should go for 2 amps...its just the cost..
well....loads of stuff to buy...i'll add it to the list...fucking massive list
  18. #18
yehh, 2 amps but remember , can your headunit handle all this..!?
  19. #19
if you are after cheap but good amps go for the mutant amps i have 3 in my car one on each sub and the other on the front and rear speakers. the amps are about £50 each and are really good.
  20. #20
yes.. Also the new toxic ones are supposed to be good aswell.
Matey of mine has a big mutant install and sounds really good !
  21. #21
    i like the alpine gear
can anyone recommend a good amp...
would i go for two 2 channel amps?
or monos for each sub and an amp for the 6x9's..
if i ask sextons it'll cost me a fortune
  22. #22
burn the 6x9's thats your starting point.
  23. #23
    Haha, well said Scott
