little help please?

   is there such things as a 'sports cat part' or are all cats the same. i have to replace my de-cat pipe due to m.o.t time

   sports cat just has less restriction than normal cat
   but will pass an mot
   as close to a decat as u can get but staying legal

   its obviously restricting it a fair amount to pass the exhaust gas tests. I'd personally just put a cat back on for MOT and swap back over afterwards...
   
   none of this poncing about with sports cats

   as said above if you are only putting it back on for mot only
   theres not much point in buying sports cat

   its not just for te m.o.t really my exhuast needs to be quieter anyway

   well a cat will definatly quiet down your exhaust, maybe just leave it on for now then.

   sports cats are usually quite costly !!!

    Thats pretty cheap i think. Makes it easier for Mot time but for dest performance just de-cat it
