oil breather pipe...

  1. #1
The whole of oil breather has decided to fall off....i.e. the rubber hose that attaches to the air box and the actual 90 degree elbow piece that fits into the engine, so now theres just a hole. Does anyone know if this will be affecting the car? And if I find a new one will it just push in or is it more complex?
    any help would be appreciated

    edit: its a 106 gti

i think i seen this a couple of weeks ago is it out of a vts or gti??? i think some people bend it a bit with some pliars and make it a bit oval and just squeeze it in

wont affect the car at all, its purely for envirourment purposes.

I removed this when I painted my rocker cover. It just puched back in again. Can't imagine they're expensive probably no more that £5 but thats a guess

yes it will affect the car,it could leak oil like mine did

You cant just buy the peace you have to buy a new rocker cover which is £120 from citroen
What i did was find a bit of piping and stick that in there, that done the job

this happened to me a few weeks back, i jus got a bit of copper pipe and used that as a replacment, does the job perfectly

not having the tubing won't cause the engine to leak oil.

Im guessing the parts guy didnt have a clue when you went in (usual for the parts guys)

Of course you can buy the pipe on its own:

The part you need is labelled as number 8 on the diagram right?

Its description is "oil vapor hose" part number is 1192 N5 and it costs £4.98 including the VAT

If you want a new hose clip aswel (labelled part 73) then thats 6981 H6 and its 61p inc VAT

cant see the pic sorry as im at works pic

i meen the pipe comming out of the right hand side of the rocker cover

    is that what you meen

Yep on the pic the pipe comes out of the side of the rocker and goes into the 90degree bend part in the air box.

The pic is the citroen exploded diagram so if its any other parts on there i can find the part numbers for it easy enough

It shouldn't come loose if you've got the two bolts holding the rest of the pipe in?

Unless its twisting up or down?

God damn this is an auld thread
