Quiet after market exhaust & will a vts back box fit a furio?

  1. #1
i have a furio which currently has a bike can on which is far too loud as now i am mainly doing motorway miles.

what exhaust would be good and quiet?

i dont want anything loud, especially at motorway speeds.

oh, and not too expensive either

    cheers

EDIT: ok, i'm now looking at getting a standard vts back box. does anyone know for certain if it will fit or not?

a magnex full system are quite quiet.
  3. #3
any others? so that i can have a look around
  4. #4
I think Piper are good too.
  5. #5
piper are loud imo, magnex seem to be a ood all rounder
  6. #6
hah - do not go Piper if you want Quiet lol

    Magnex are a safe bet.

Magnex are probally what your after but my personal view is they do not sit will at the back of the car, for two reasons

    1. with out trimming and a good installation the tailpipe will stick out alittle too far and my biggest problem . . .

    2.

I mean, look at it. The rear siliencer doesnt even fit under the car it looks wrong.

I had a Janspeed which sat a lot better under the car and was pretty quiet.

Here is my Janspeed cat back system, as you can see no giant rear siliencer on show, just tucked up where it should be (Under the bumper)

If you have a Magnex and are happy with please dont have a go at me, its just my personal view.

I haven spoken to anybody that wasnt unhappy with the performance of their magnex until they went to say throttle bodies and then they found it abit restrictive.

magnex tbh mate, think thats your best bet if you want quiet.

    ok, thanks everyone.

does anyone know if a standard vtr back box would fit?
  10. #10
    would fit what?

also, if you want a standard look, a cybox racing centre section with vts back box is very quiet, but with a small rasp to it, nothing much tho.

the cybox centre section is £75 delivered and that includes a de-cat.
  11. #11
    its a 52 plate furio

i'm not too bothered about performance, but any gain would be nice.

i just want to change what is on there at the moment as its too loud.

i would have thought a vtr/s back box would fit as all the back boxes i have looked at say they are for furio/vtr/vts but i may be wrong?
  12. #12
The VTs box has a bigger diameter pipe than the VTR and 1.4s i think.
  13. #13
well if you want a vts back box i have one for sale

also, try what i stated earlier.

cybox racing centre section or supersprint one, with a vts back box, will baffle it enough to not be to loud at all, not much louder than standard tbh.
  14. #14
how much do you want for your vts back box?

i may have it if it will fit.

    do you have a pic?

where is the cat on a furio?
if i do what you said will it de-cat it?
  15. #15
    ok, new question.

does anyone know for certain if a VTS back box would fit a furio?

if not how about a VTR back box?

    cheers

VTR boxes are 100% the same diamater but i think the VTS ones are bigger. Might just mean you only need a bigger clamp though. The box is quite different looking to the VTR/Furio box though the silencer is a lot larger
  17. #17
VTS and VTR backbox's should fit on mate, a think the pipe bore size are the same across the 3 models

Best thing to do is have a look on a few websites like www.performancecentre.co.uk or www.motorsportworld.co.uk and compair the codes for a back box for a VTS and then for a Furio. Im 99.9% sure they are the same but Id check before buying.

Another good site for saxo bits is www.cituning.ltd.uk

    Hope that helps
