Installing ICE

I'm lookin to uprade the speakers in my car, as some of you already kno. But now im stuck on installation. Is it an easy job? On a scale of 1-10 1 being easy and 10 being hard, how hard is it?
I have got the max power/hanyes manual's and it all seems a bit complicated. How much would it cost to get a pro to do it? Where clould i get it done?
I want to have a go at it myself but im afraid i will either mess it up, or get stuck in the middle and not know how to put it all back together.
    Help!

depends what exactly you want. front speakers are a piece of piss, headunit the same infact everything is a piece of piss but i have quite a bit of experience

but in general especially in a saxo its pretty easy stuff

Tools: Drill, small drill bit, flat bladed screwdriver.

Prise speaker cover off with flat bladed screw driver, the origional speaker will probably be held in with pop rivets, if so use the drill and a small drill bit around the same size as the rivets centre hole and drill straight through the middle, the rivet should just fall out, remove speaker by unplugging the connector. Either cut of connector block and join the new speaker wires or crimp some small spades onto the new wires and plug into block. Screw new speaker in place. done.

Any one know the sizes or the speaker pods? I think the front are 13cm and the rear 10cm? But i need to be certain on this before i purchase any.
    thanks

yes front 13cm, rear 10cm. Dont bother with rear speakers save the money for better front ones.

Front.. take off speaker grille with a screwdriver as scott said and unscrew teh torx(as mine were) or drill out the rivets... simple.

Rear..the speaker grille is bonded onto the read card so you have to take out the rear bench and then unclip the clips around the card to release....

Head unit .. use release keys to get it out and unconnect the wires, get your new headunit put the cage in, insert the headunit and wire it up (u dont need an iso adapter for a mark1 im not sure for mark2) once its clicked in, insert facia and your in business

Its a Pug 106, but im sure the principle is still the same, thanks.

some pug 106 stereos are a bugger to get out, as I have found out at work.. had to do it with feeler gauges in the end.
Also some years of 106 you need fascia adaptors and ISO connector wiring look to install the radio.

I dont want to take the stereo out, just replace the front a rear door speakers. Do i have to remove the stereo to do this then?>

NO MATE YOU DON'T NEED TO TOUCH THE STEREO IF YOUR ONLY UPGRADING THE SPEAKERS, BUT TO RUN YOUR SPEAKERS AT THEIR FULL POTENTIAL YOU SHOULD UPGRADE YOUR HEAD UNIT TOO.

To run your speakers at their full potential you should get amp for the front components. Headunits amp pushes out maybe 10 watts and that is not enough. you just break you speakers with distortion..
