mk2 vtr engine into mk1 vtr saxo

    hi lads. i have just purchased my mk2 vtr engine as i managed to destroy my mk1 engine.. v.gutted. 200quid 43000miles and mint cond. bargainnn. anyway. i know about the mk2 oil filter having to be changed to a mk1 filter and putting m10 grub screw in the hole etc etc. but is there any other sneaky things that i have missd out on doing for it 2 fit? the engine will be running off my original loom so stil single lambda. i know about the oil sensor in block aswell which would of been under oil filter on mk2 engine but thats no biggy as i can use my mk1 sensor from my block. jay. will appreciate any help lads. gotta do this conversion this saturday!!!wish me luck.

    are you using mk1 or mk2 manifold?

    made mistake actually pal. i am putting a 42k black top into mine and need to know what needs to be changed. cheers. jay

    nothing the black top engine is a mk1 90bhp just, so will go straight in i think

    Try clearing things up a little, what engine have you got atm? what year is your car? and what engine are you putting in?

    should put the same year vts engine in the same year vts or you may have to change the entire loom for the car

    get a pre 1997 to guarentee matching looms

    As said black top is a easy swap for another black. Just avoid the silver plops.

    right ive been given a black top mistakingly by the breakers yard. i was wondering wether it would fit to save me cash sending it back and waiting for a silver top. its don 42k so nice decent mileage if it were to fit. i am now pondering on selling it to fund getting a original silver top for my mk1. cat under car. jay
