Dodgy brakes?

  1. #1
Hello there, picked up my phase 2 VTS on Wednesday. But, I was expecting the brakes to be ace compared to my last car (a mk5 fiesta zs), but they are shocking! It's had new discs and pads all round 3k ago, and we've bleed all the brakes today, made a small difference, but not much at all. (on the drivers front caliper, managed to snap the nozzle bit off as it was that tight!)

Does anyone know why my brakes aren't very good?
And has anybody got a standard VTS drivers front caliper for sale?

    Thanks
    Dan

i think all saxo brakes are crap mate.

206 gti or 306 gti-6 seem to be a common upgrade.

Are they?! Hope not with discs all round! Haha

I let me mate drive it the other day, he used to have a VTS, and he seems to think theres a problem?

But, I do have to brake really early atm........

std saxo calipers are small, and have a crap rep.

having discs all round doesnt mean naff all tbh, when the fron does most of the braking.

upgrade the calipers if you want more braking, or check the abs isnt fucked aswell

Yeah true, its just that the brakes on the ZS were mint compared to the Saxo?! Haha

How do you check the abs then? Im guessing i'll need to check the abs sensor, but I'm not sure where they're located!

saxo brakes are shit after braking heavily from 70 to 0 they hardly work

the 247 setup is just plain dangerous.

my mate managed to snap both bleed nipple of my vts today after fitting some braided lines, not happy !

If I get into my saxo after driving my 206 for a while, the saxo really does feel dodgy as fuck. Takes a few miles getting used to it
