Is the spoiler in primer now? If so, 1200 wet and dry, make sure you really get it wet.. you can add a really tiny amount of soap to it as well.. clean as you sand..

no its kinda still sprayed silver (the wrong kind), tried with some grit earlier but took it down to the black but it left a rough finish so wanted to do the rest without making it rough and smooth over wat ive made rough

What paper did you use to make it rough?
If for instance you used 600.. then I would recommend you getting some 800, 1000 and 1200.. using the 800 first to make it smoother, then the 1000 to make it even smoother and the 1200 to finish.

Theres really no need to use the 1000 grit, id start with the 800 and jump straight to the 1200, you can still obtain the same finish.

Thinners really wouldnt help much tbh your best of doing as andy says, sanding down at 800grit and then smoothing it down with 1200grit to get the best finish. You need to take time doing it aswell otherwise you'll be left with a nasty finish.
