just wondering what i could add next to my vtr to gain more bhp without the turbo or supercharge. So far i have a stright through exhuast 4 branch manifold, induction kit and cams.
    Any ideas would be great..

    re-map ?? or tb's ?
  3. #3
A remap if you have not already done so... Then you will really reap the benefits of your current mods.

i have thought of that but also thought if i get a remap and then add more to the engine it will need to be remapped again

Have you thought about throttle bodies?
  6. #6
not though off anything yet just wanted some ideas
  7. #7
Strip out the car so there is no weight..part from tht u cnt do alot more...nt 2 ad a dramactic effect ne ways !
  8. #8
has to be throttle bodies... 'elps you breath more easily
  9. #9
bodies and full car stripage ftw!
  10. #10
Strip it, loose all the headlining, rear seats, spare wheel, 6 x 9's etc

Agree with above mate, either bodies or change the cams for something a bit
more spicy? But then thers all the internals that need to be changed.

Quite a few Turbo VTR/VTSs flying about at the moment.

the car is stripped from the fronts two seats back
  13. #13
re map it, new throttle bodies, loose as much weight as poss
  14. #14
get a vts engine swap lol.

Stroker kit with large bore pistons to take the engine to 1850cc. Big valve down drafted head. Independent throttle bodies. Up rated valve springs and light weight cap. Shimmed solid rockers. Stand alone engine management. Very wild cam with bronzed locating bush. Big bore BTB exhaust and manifold. Better cooling. Big volume sump. Close ratio gearbox. LSD. Or if your feeling flush get a C2 R2 sequential box.

Didnt think the capacity could be increased any futher on these engines? That
would be something though if possible!

You can only have relatively small over bores but there is plenty of room for a longer stroke crank. 1850cc is generally considered the biggest you can go. Though really thats pushing the bore to its limits. You can go longer on the stroke though but then you have to remove the oil spray bars. This is not the end of the world but if your doing other tuning as well your best to retain them. Most people don’t bother though as your talking over £1000 for a custom crank and then you have to sort specific pistons and rods. So for not much more you could just boost the engine and the boosted engine will give you more hp per £.

Thats the thing though, you go so far, where does it ever end lol.
