#1
i have just been and fetched my gti interior. im very pleased with it and reckon i have had a bargain. Mint condition from a y reg 47k. airbaged, doorcards, all seats and headrests, £300. Been after one for ages and am chuffed to bits, hoping to fit them in the morning, can anyone tell me how easy and how to get front seats out please? cheers
-
#2easy mate. 4bolts on each seat and the seatbelt tensioner cable plugs in the bottom. just lifts out then. glad your happy with it soyuld look awesome.
-
#3presume these are the bolts with the star head on them? 2 from the top and others from the side, if you know what i mean, will get pics up asap
-
#4them be the ones mate. just dont forget about the seatbelt tensioners. my mate did and ripped the wiring clean out of his car lol.
-
#5you need a T40 torx bit to get the bolts out. remember to unclip the airbag plug under the seat before taking them out
-
#6cheers lads, nice easy job. know i shouldn't but will a big flat head do it if im carefull cus got no torx.
-
#7it will do it, would be better off buying a nice torx set to be honest.
-
#8where you reckon i could get one as they are useful and what to expect to pay
-
#9i'd got halfrauds and get a reasonable tool chest as it wil contain almost everything you could possibly need to do work on your car.
-
#10will look into it mate, cheers for your help, will let you know how i get on
-
#11nps get some work in progress pics up as well as finished article.
-
#13Just fitted a gti interior myself, I got a t40 from halfords for £2.30 so not worth mangling the bolts for that price.
The pretentioner connections are different though, assumably you just match the wire colours together? Should the battery be disconnected for this? -
#14got the t40 off me grandad in the end, didnt want to round them off. Yeah just match up the colours, never bothered disconnecting battery and was fine. i am just missing the bracket for the split bench, so rears not in properly yet but will pop to breakers weekend. any1 know what models the extra bracket comes on?
-
#15VTS definately has the bracket, if the VTR has a split rear bench then it must do too??
-
#16buy a half inch drive socket wiv a torx40 head on it m8 tht way it can be attached to a ratchet makes life alot easier taking and refittin seats. They can be purchased from halfords for under £5. Hope it looks good m8

#17Well done mate!
Theyl look mint in your car
Esy job taking the seats out
-
#18well done, really like the GTi interior.
personally i would disconect the bettery before diconecting the battery - just to be on the safe side
-
#19VTRs and lower models DON'T have the rear split bracket. you'll have to obtain that from citroen or a scrappy.
As for the wires, unless you have an airbagged GTI interior, you'll have to rewire it or take the bulb on the dash out etc.
EDIT: I've never disconnected the battery whilst messing with my interior neither, suppose it is safer though -
#20cheers for the help, they do look mint and the difference they make is unreal. im off work 2mora so going to get meself down the breakers, theres one local to me who has a lot of saxos and 106's. will get pics up of finished article soon.
-
#22I'm thinking he was airbagged. if its normal thats fine pretensioners just go in........
-
#23yh mine are airbagged mate.
-
#24just fitted the drivers side doorcard. wasn't as bad as i thought, and think it looks better in my opinion. i found that because of the shape of the saxo doorcard, it meant they rubbed against the seat
