What other saxo models of exhaust fit a Phase 1 VTS?

  1. #1
    Hi All,

Looking through past threads, i have people saying that phase 2 vts exhaust, and phase 2 vtr exhausts will fit a phase 1, and then theres a bunch of threads saying the opposite that only a phase 1 exhaust for a VTR/VTS will fit.

Basically, i'm looking for a cat back exhaust for my 1999 Phase 1 VTS, and i want to know what other models i can use the exhaust from.

And the same question for the decat pipe please. My cat is not in the downpipe.

    Thanks

    Matt

Saxo VTR cat back exhaust would also fit up until a 2001 model. (where the VTRs cat then was put into the manifold)

Im not sure but, i was thinking you can fit a mk2 VTR (later modal with cat in manifold) standard center pipe and backbox onto a mk1 VTR/S

Cause them the mk1 VTR/S it will then de-cat the car

But im not sure on if this would work or not but im sure it would

mk1 center pipes wont fit the mk2's with out welding another bit on mk2 center pipes will fit on mk1s .. i have a mk2 center pipe on mine and it decatted it .. if you join that with the right back box you get a nice raspy note

i didnt really understand what he was on about as well lol

the 5 door exhaust will fit as well as there isnt any difference in length of the car, if it is any longer it;ll be by a few mm, as people fit vt kits to 5 doors without adding any extra plastic to the kit

think hes on about the fact he mark 1 pipe is shorter to accomodate the cat and running 2 cats is a fail so he would weld a bit in where the cat should be

all the 16v exhausts are the same its just the 8v that differ in age
the mark 1 is cat under car so has a shorter centre pipe
mark 2 is cat in mani so the longer pipe is needed
im running a mark 2 vtr exhaust on my 106gti to decat it as its just a pipe with a centre box like

So in theory if you can use any saxo exhaust on any saxo then surely this would be a extremely cheap alternative to a supersprint race pipe.

couldnt tell you, nothing made sense in the sentence i highlighted.

i know the differences between the two but they will still fit the same.

you may be quite right jeff i just assumed the five door models would be abit longer.

normally they are a 1.75" diameter pipe though and they arent alumised so will corrode aswell as the fact a lot of the cheap made oe pipes have crushed in bends which wont really help flow

but to get a bit more noise yea thatll work
prerformance wise i would rather get a proper system
